Antoinette Harris, better known as Toni Harris, is the first female to ever receive a college scholarship to play defense on an all mens team; she is also the first female to ever even sign a letter of intent.
The Safety signed her letter of content to play for Missouri’s Central Methodist University, a Division 1 School, earlier this week. CMU is just one of six universities to give Harris offers. Since, Harris has been all over joining shows such as The Today Show, to talk about how she is making history. She also let hosts in on phrase she has tattoo’d on her, “be so good they can’t ignore you,” which has helped motivate her throughout her journey.

The 22-year-old female athlete, weighing 164-pounds and coming it at 5 feet 7 inches tall has overcome more than a lot to be where she is today. At 18 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, causing her to lose half of her body weight. She also struggled with discrimination, harassment, and death threats according to the Huffington Post. But this has not slowed her down from reaching her dreams.
In the end, Harris plans on becoming the first female to be drafted into the National Football League. And she hopes to play for her favorite team, the Seattle Seahawks.
