Welcome to She’s Got Game! Over the next couple of weeks this blog will follow standout female athletes and/or teams from Rowan University (and some colleges/ universities in close vicinity) to highlight their accomplishments.
More often than not male sports and male athletes are the ones in the headlines, but that is not the case here. This is a place for female athletes to shine. I plan on covering these fantastic females by keeping up with sports news, attending games, and meeting up with star athletes one-on-one to give them a chance to brag about their triumphs.
I will build an audience through the female athletic community. Since this is a topic geared specifically for them, they will automatically have high interest in reading the posts and keeping up in what is going on in the sports community surrounding them. Once I have loyal followers through them I can then begin branching out through their families and friends so they can read about their talented loved ones.
Since this blog is being started in-between winter and spring sports, those will be followed most thoroughly at first. However there is no discrimination here. If there is an extraordinary female athlete with a story to be told, we will tackle it head on.
This is where the contact page on this site becomes extremely important. I encourage any and all readers to send a message if they know off a female athlete who deserves some recognition. Whether it was for her work during a game, or going above and beyond for her community, let me know!
